Connected Lakes was the first place I began engaging in bird photography as something more than a passing interest. The evolution of the digital camera combined with a telephoto lens and computer processing opened up whole new way of thinking about nature photography. This was the location where my exploration of the possibilities began. The rather unremarkable photo on the left is my first-ever shot of a Great Blue Heron.
